At least 30 Kenyan nationals are receiving treatment at Tororo General Hospital after a bus carrying pilgrims from Uganda Martyrs Day celebrations overturned at Osukuru, along the Malaba–Jinja Highway, on Tuesday.
The bus, bearing Kenyan registration number KCQ 05Q and reportedly belonging to Kasima Mixed Secondary School in Nyahururu, was transporting 51 passengers back to Kenya following their pilgrimage to Namugongo.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred when the bus collided with an unidentified vehicle, causing it to lose control and overturn. Police said investigations are underway to establish the full circumstances surrounding the crash.
Hospital sources confirmed that most of the injured are in stable condition, though some sustained serious injuries.
