In a shocking turn of events, DNA tests have confirmed that only four out of nine children claimed to be the offspring of the late Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya are biologically related to him. The revelation came after members of his family and a legal team initiated paternity tests following his death on January 9, 2025 .
According to Ssegirinya’s former personal assistant, Alex Lusswa Luwemba, the four confirmed children are identified as Nagirinya Aaliyah, Sharifah Nagirinya, Shifrah Nagirinya, and Ivan—the only son among them . Efforts to verify the remaining five claimants, including a nine-month-old infant presented by a woman from Matugga, showed they are not his biological children .
“God is great… Their actions were inhumane. Those women started fighting for his property even before he was buried,” Luwemba remarked, highlighting the emotional and legal turmoil that followed Ssegirinya’s burial .
The outcome has triggered a legal process to issue letters of administration for the verified children, who stand to inherit a portion of Ssegirinya’s estate. The late MP passed away intestate—without a will—prompting his family to seek the necessary legal authority to oversee his assets. Lawyer Medard Lubega Ssegona is leading the efforts with the Administrator General’s office.
The four confirmed children will formally assume their rights as heirs, pending court-issued letters of administration.
The five excluded claimants lose any legal claim to Ssegirinya’s estate.
