Hon. Ambrose Byamugisha Muhoozi, also known as Hon. Ambrosoli, has pledged to establish football academy clubs for young people across Ruhinda South County if elected into office. The NRM parliamentary aspirant made the announcement on Sunday, July 6, while presiding over a youth football match between Kabira Academy and Nyakibale Lower Academy from Rukungiri District at Ihungu Playground on July 17.

Addressing the crowd, Hon. Ambrosoli emphasized the importance of investing in both education and sports, describing them as powerful avenues for nurturing future talent.
“Our children should not only aim for academic excellence, but also be given a platform to grow their talents. I pledge to establish football academies across Ruhinda South so that our youth can develop skills that will open doors for them nationally and internationally,” he said.
The match was attended by local sports officials, headteachers, religious leaders, and community members. Kabira Archdeacon delivered the closing prayer, blessing the initiative and calling for unity in supporting youth development.
A similar event was held at Mayanga Playground, where Kabira Academy faced off with Mayanga Academy. Byamugisha, who also officiated at that game, commended stakeholders for their continued efforts to empower the youth through sports.

“I thank the organizers of this friendly match for their outstanding work, and I encourage all education and sports stakeholders in Mitooma to support these budding academies,” he noted.
Byamugisha is one of the frontrunners in the NRM primaries for Ruhinda South County, scheduled for July 17. Other aspirants in the race include Herbert Banyanga, Arthur Kazoora, Capt. (Rtd) Ben Kamukama, and the incumbent Hon. Dononzio Kahonda.
