West Nile: Residents in Arua city are living in fears after unknown men donned in plain clothes allegedly kidnapped Hadad Salim, the NUP parliamentary candidade for Arua Central Division.
Hadad was allegedly kidnapped on Sunday while at his resident in Lumumba cell next to Arua Public School.
According to Saddam, plain-clothed men stormed Hadad’s residency two weeks ago and ordered him to come out but he was stopped by his family and neighbours. He also claimed that some people from the NRM camp approached Hadad and asked him to abandon his candidature in exchange for money in vain. The NUP camp has given security 48 hours to produce least they take to the streets.
However, Lt. Lubega Ndifuna who could not admit or deny the kidnap said he did not knowanything on the arrest of Hadad.
Ndifuna said that he was going to first consult from his bosses and other security parties about the matter and then commence investigations.
He added that some candidates may stage self abduction in order to gain sympathy from the voters.
