Police have arrested a key suspect in connection with the murder of the Director of Students Affairs at Uganda Christian University (UCU), Pamela Tumwebaze.
The suspect, Taewaiko Dak Hussein, a former house help at Tumwebaze’s home was arrested on Friday, February 14, 2026, in Budaka District.
According to security sources, the suspect was tracked and apprehended at his hideout. He was allegedly found in possession of the deceased’s property, a development investigators describe as a critical piece of evidence linking him to the crime.
Preliminary findings indicate that the suspect previously worked as a house help to the deceased.
Pamela was murdered on Tuesday night at her residence in Mukono District after unidentified assailants reportedly broke into her home. Her body was later conveyed to the Church of Uganda Hospital in Mukono for postmortem examination.
Security agencies said investigations are ongoing to establish the motive of the murder and to determine whether other suspects were involved.
