The president of Uganda H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa has warned all social media platforms that have been spreading fake news about his death.
He has tested the security sources to apprehend all those engaged in the Same act.
The president made the remarks on Thursday at Kololo ceremonial grounds where he had gone to preside over the swearing in of some ministers who had not taken tbeir oaths of allegiances last time.
He called the act (announcing him dead) an idiotic problem which needs to be solved.
“I therefore urge everyone to take note on every information that he/she is sharing.” he urged.
The warnings follow recent posts making rounds on social media declaring the president either bedridden or dead, the news that later turned to falsehoods.
The state house has since come out to dismiss the news saying that the news causes havoc among the public.
Linda Nabusaayi Wamboka, the senior presidential Secretary for the press at the beginning of this week wrote to telecom regulatory body UCC ordering them to detect, arrest and persecute anyone involved in the acts.
According to Nabusaayi the criminals spreading such news do this with an intent to cause panic and fears in the public.
I appreciate the work
