The in identified 35yr-old Male Kenyan is reportedly to have entered Uganda through the Busia borderpoint. He is one of the two cases that tested positive today.

Another case is a Ugandan national hailing from Masindi district whose case was determined by a team of ministry of health conducting an assessment survey aimed to establishing community transmission of COVID-19.

So far, Uganda has a total number of 85 Covid-19 confirmed cases, 52 of whom are recoveries who have already been discharged. The country has not registered any death fatalities.

According to reports by Ministry of Health, a total of 2,454 samples tested at Uganda Virus Research Institute in Entebbe, and all 399 from community tested negative for corona virus yesterday Friday May 1st,2020.

Reports further shows that a total number of 27 truck drivers from neighbouring countries have so far tested positive. 17cases have been returned to their respective countries whereas 10 of them are admitted in various hospitals in Uganda receiving treatments.

As the lockdown in uganda comes yo its apex, the number of truck drivers testing positive for covid-19 is increasing day by day putting the hopes of Ugandans at a test of government to extend the lock down.

President Museveni yesterday pledged he would address the nation on Monday May 4th on the updates concerning the ongoing lockdown. However, with these new cases and those being reported in neighborhoods, Uganda keeps at a risk of contracting the deadly virus should the country lift the lockdown now.
