Yesterday 28 July, 2021, the top most oppostion party, National Unity Platform(NUP),reached out to the kwamwokya ghetto dwellers who were affected by the fire that left two people dead plus others injured and handed them food relief and ironsheets.
The disaster happened last week on Thursday when fire suspected to have been started by the loose electric wires in Kyamuka Kifumbira zone near Northern by pass raged the wooden shelter leaving many other properties destroyed.
Two people identified as Steven Okwale, a 29 male adult resident of Mirimu zone and Caroline Amai, a female adult and resident of Kifumbira zone died in the inferno.
The leader of opposition who doubles as the NUP vice president Buganda Region, Hon.Mathias Mpuuga championed this charity activity
“My office working with the leadership of NUP have delivered relief items;food stuffs and iron sheets to KAMWOKYA dwellers who lost property last Thursday”Mpuuga comfirmed.
The NUP’s action however on the otherside left some people wondering like the real victims,the Nyendo-Mukungwe legislator and other who were asking why the government has not yet come out to help the ghetto natives that were left homeless
