Suspended FDC president Eng. Patrick Oboi Amuriat has said no amount of blunt hostility will cow him into abandoning his party.
POA as politically referred to was speaking to the media shortly after being nominated for re-election as the FDC president in the October 6 National Delegates Conference.
“I am still here, not going anywhere,” said Amuriat
On Tuesday, the FDC National Executive Committee (NEC) faction sitting at Katonga suspended the leadership of Amuriat and Hon. The Najjanankumbi fact however downplayed the Katonga resolutions and continued with their earlier arrangements to nominate candidates who will be elected leaders on the October 6 National Delegates Conference at UMA Show grounds Lugogo.
Today (Thursday 21 September), POA, Nandala were among other cabinet leaders who turned up for nominations seeking a re-election for the same positions.
On his part, SG Nandala said he decided to run for the same position after losing his bid to run for party presidency.
“The entire Najjanankumbi team strongly believe in democracy and not back door politics. That’s why I was elected in 2015 as the Secretary-General and have since served diligently,” he said.
Meanwhile, former Rukiga county MP and founding member of the FDC, Hon. Jack Sabiiti has also been nominated to contest for party national chairman seat.
