The Democratic Party Presidential Press Secretary, Fred Mwesigwa has challenged government officials and serving military officers to stop being arrogant and violating the rights of Ugandans so that they will not be embarrassed even on their death.
“There are those who are in government and security, they think they own everything on earth. The death of Gen. Elly Tumwine should be a lesson to you to behave as human beings and respect each other despite your positions,” Mwesigwa said
He also warned saying; “If you don’t behave as humans, you will be embarrassed like Gen. Tumwine and your dead body will be embarrassed.”
Mwesigwa was responding to a questions fired to him by journalists after he condemned social media users celebrating the death of the four star General, Elly Tumwine which occured on Thursday last week.
According to him, celebrating Tumwine’s death is not only a mockery to the deceased family but also tarnishes the image of the country.
He eulogized Gen. Tumwine as a human rights fighter and true patriotic soldier appealing to Ugandans not to rejoice in his death.
Mwesigwa reminded that many people have committed more weird mistakes than Tumwine and urged Ugandans to leave them to God than judging them.
