The police in Kampala have arrested political activist and leader of the People’s Front for Transition Dr Kizza Besigye in down town Kampala as he protested against escalating prices of commodities.
Besigye who has been under house arrest today’s morning beat up security at his home and few hours, he entered Kampala city in a heroic manner.
He first had his stop over at Arua Park on Ben Kiwanuka street where a mammoth of traders, economically stricken Ugandans stopped their businesses and joined him as he preached the gospel of awakening call to Ugandans to rise in large numbers and protest against high price commodities.
Clad in his famous blue striped shirt, Col the FDC stalwart said he won’t stop demonstrating until the government does something.
Rtd.Col Dr Kizza Besigye said he moved to town this morning in protest of the unreasonable commodity prices and to give an awakening call to Ugandans to protest the same.
As he went to other parts of the city amid the crowd, police and military managed to arrest him and has been whisked to a yet to identify detention together with other protestors.
