Owing to goal keeping problems faced with Chelsea fc, the club is in the race to sign AS Roma Goalkeeper, Pau Lopez. latest news from the Blues indicate that Manager Frank Lampard has lost hopes in current goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Lampard faces pressure from other English teams of;Tottenham Hotspurs and Westham United which are also reportedly eyeing Lopez.
Lopez, 25, had earlier played at Tottenham on loan during 2016-17 but failed to make a single senior appearance under Mauricio Pochettino. He played seven times for the club’s reserve side, conceding eight goals.
He later joined Real Bettis where his career blossomed having been given regular matches. After 10 clean sheets in 35 games at R. Bettis, he joined AS Roma last summer for a fee estimated at of £20million. This season, he has managed nine clean sheets in 34.
Tottenham has so far expressed interests if resigning him. However, reports in sports media outlets state that Chelsea fc is offering £28m to sign a deal although AS Roma still insists at £36million.
Additionally, Chelsea and Bayer Leverkusen are £15m apart as Frank Lampard looks to beat Liverpool and Manchester United to Kai Havertz’s signature.
