At least eight people have been confirmed dead and several others injured in the Katago motor accident along the Ishaka-Kagamba road.
The accident happened on Friday evening at around 8Pm at Katago corners in Kyamugabo, Ibaare sub county Bushenyi district.
According to eye witnesses, the accident occurred when a Fuso truck carrying traders and their luggage from Kitagata market lost control and overturned at Kyamugabo.
SP Martial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi Police spokesman has said that four people including three men and a woman died instantly and two others died shortly after admission.
However, reliable sources told Parrots UG that other two traders passed on Saturday in the hospital where they had been admitted increasing the death toll to Eight persons.
Martial said that the bodies and casualties were taken to Kampala International University teaching hospital and Kitagata hospital, for both postmortem analysis and treatments respectively.
