FDC extends dates for nomination of NEC leaders

Electoral commission chairperson, Hon. Boniface Toterebuka Bamwenda has extended dates for picking of nomination forms for all positions by two days until September 14, 2023.

Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has extended dates for the picking of nomination forms to leaders interested in vying for party National Executive Committee.

On Monday last week, the FDC electoral commission released an electoral roadmap for NEC elections.

According to the roadmap, picking of Nomination Forms for all positions commenced on Friday 8th and was expected to close today Tuesday 12th September, 2023 at 5PM

“Return of nomination forms by ordinary members is scheduled between 13 and 16th September, 2023 whereas candidates who are members of the cabinet (working) will return the forms on 17th and 18th September, 2023,” Kikonyogo told journalists lady week.

However, latest reports indicate that the electoral commission chairperson, Hon. Boniface Toterebuka Bamwenda has extended dates for picking of nomination forms for all positions by two days until September 14, 2023. Return of the nomination forms has also been extended to Monday September 18.

FDC will elect NEC leaders on October 6, 2023, two days to the expiry of the term of office of the current leadership.
