The newly elected secretary for research and publicity in the Forum for Democratic Change national youth league, Patricia Elubu Ayoo has urged the youth to use their talents while they are still young and able

According to Ayoo, the youth have a lot of potential and time to emancipate themselves from poverty and other sociopolitical challenges.

“The youth are the most people with the energy to start. Stand up and do anything regardless of your age, or sex. When you invest your energy, I am sure you shall achieve because there is nothing that goes in vain,” she said

Ayoo was speaking to journalists at FDC headquarters Najjanankumbi on Thursday (October 19) shortly after being declared a winner for publicity secretary in the party’s National Youth League.

According to results announced by the FDC chief electoral commissioner, Boniface Toterebuka Bamwenda, Ayoo was declared a winner after she obtained the highest number of votes, 127 votes against her rival Abdurahman Mbaziira who garnered only 40 votes of the total 167 votes cast.

She said when well utilized, talent creates space for oneself and opportunities for others.

“I am sure everyone is talented. Let’s try to use our talents for the benefit of our country,” she added.

Ayoo pledged to work with the party youth committees from grassroots to national levels and youth Leagues from other parties to tackle the plight of the youth in the country.
