Four students of Buganda Royal Institute in Mengo Kampala have perished in a fatal road accident in Katabi town council, Entebbe Wakiso district.
The accident occured on Saturday April13, at Musinde, on Garuga road in Katabi Entebbe when the driver of a Toyota Rumion vehicle registration number UBH 582S in which the students were travelling lost control as he tried to overtake another Drone car in a sharp corner, and rammed into a stationary Lorry Fuso truck that was offloading Sodas.
It is reported that the students six in numbers were going to attend a beach party at Katomi Kingdom beach organized by the institution’s Guild Council.
Micheal Kananura, the traffic spokesperson said four students died in spot and their bodies were taken to City mortuary Mulago while the two casualties have been rushed to Kisubi hospital for treatment.
“All the vehicles have been impounded to Kisubi police station for inspection and investigation into the crash continues,” said Kananura.
Joseph. S. Balikuddembe, the Principal Buganda Royal Institute mourned the deceased students who he identified as Joseph Mayanja, Ssempebwa Hausa, Tumuhimbise Steven and one other. May their souls rest in peace.Â
