Uganda’s Olympic medalist Joshua cheptegei has won the 5000m race at the 2022 prefontaine classic at Hayward field in Eugene .
The ugandan record breaking runner was looking forward to breaking his own record of 12:35:36 which he set in August 2020 in MonacoHowever this was not possible as he recorded a time of 12:57:59 .
Joshua has finished above Ethiopia’s milkesa mengesha and Kenya’s Daniel Ebenyo who posed 13:01:11 and 13 01:61 respectively .
Joshua cheptegei will again be in action in eight weeks time in the 2022 Oregon World Athletics championship in the same venue.
