The agreement was reached at in a mediation meeting with representatives from either sides held in the office of SC Francis Gimara, Advocate and Commissioner for oaths in Kampala today.

It should be recalled that the justice’s burial which was initially scheduled to take place today, Friday 23rd, 2023 was postponed after a dispute developed between the deceased children and her relative side led by her husband Ambassador James Amoko.

The children contended that their mother had willed to be buried at Jukia Hill in Nebbi town while the husband demanded that her wife be buried at his ancestral home in Adjumani.

The wrangles prompted government to postpone funeral arrangements until a reasonable place is determined.

However, during a mediation meeting, the representatives of both families agreed that Lady Justice Stella Arach Amoko be buried in a neutral place at Arua Catholic Cathedral Cemetery as proposed by the family of the husband, Amb. James Amoko.

The families also have adopted to a win-win spirit to resolve the matter stating that it is in the interest of both families.

The children’s side (Nebbi family) was represented by Marshal Alenyo while Hon. Raphael Baku represented the husband’s side (Adjumani family).

Alenyo was also directed to communicate to the Nebbi family about the resolutions of the meeting today Friday 23rd June, 2023.

The mediation meeting did not however did not specify the dates for the deceased burial. But, yesterday, the Chief registrar of the judiciary Sarah Langa Siu said in a statement that the remains of the deceased would be interred at a later date to be communicated. Parrots Media has learned that Lady Justice Stella Arach Amoko body is still kept at A-Plus funeral services home.
