KAMPALA
Uganda is set to host the 6th SDG run on Sunday, December 1st, 2024 at Lugogo Cricket oval Kampala, uniting thousands of stakeholders to advance environment sustainability and the achievement of the sustainable development Goals (SDGs).
This year’s theme is ” Partnership for the goal”. The run aims to raise 20 million indigenous tree seedlings to support Uganda’s forest sector restoration efforts under the UN decade on ecosystem 2021-2023. It will also mobile resources to establish regional tree nursery beds and promote sustainability initiative across the country.While speaking to the Media ahead of the run, the first deputy prime minister and also the minister for East African community Affairs Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga called on all Ugandans, organisations, and partners to join the run saying, together we can create a lasting impact for sustainable future.
She adds that this year’s run will serve as a platform for Partnerships, offering participants opportunity to make tangible contributions to Uganda’s environmental restoration efforts.
