Kawempe South Division Members (voters and campaign teams) led by Tonny Mukisa have accused their area Member of Parliament, Kazibwe Bashir Mbaziira of letting them down ever since he was elected to the 11th Parliament of Uganda.

They state that Hon Kazibwe has never appeared to his voters to understand issues affecting his constituents.

The team adduced that they are greatly affected by the inflation (rise of prices of commodities) but their legislator has never said anything to address the issues.

In an open letter to the legislator, the group reminded the MP of the promises he made as he mobilized for support like as improvement of the health sector, education, reducing on the unemployed youth in the constituency through enhancing job creation, strengthening SACCOS within the constituency among others. But to their dismay, the MP has not worked as per his manifesto.

“You promised us you were going to represent the people of Kawempe South. We are here to remind you after a year in Parliament that we haven’t seen any of what you said. We need your voice on the floor of Parliament” the letter read in part.

Particularly, voters are angry and in tears about the increasing prices of commodities whereby their legislator has not come up to say anything.

Although voters accuse Kazibwe of not addressing their challenges, the recent parliamentary hansard released report indicates he is among the well performing MPs. He for instance spoke 12 times on the floor of parliament in his first term of the five years of parliament.
