The interim president of the FDC also the Kampala Capital City Lord Mayor said on Wednesday that he does not regret fighting for a common man and standing up for fair justice in the country.
He was speaking at the FDC youth and women dialogue at Plot 6 Katonga road today when he dissed claims by the suspended FDC Secretary General Nathan Nandala Mafabi and party party president Eng Patrick Oboi Amuriat who accuse him of inciting political wars within Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) and political parties such as Democratic Party (DP) and FDC.

Known of standing up for city traders majority of whom hawkers and roadside vendors, Boda Boda cyclists who time and again government has attempted to chase away from operating within Kampala city, Lukwago said no amounts of intimidations will stop him from advocating for justice for all Ugandans.
“Some people say I was wrong for fighting Nobert Mao’s selling of DP to NRM. They have nicknamed me a warrior that I fought wars in DP, KCCA and now in FDC. I don’t regret that! I am fighting a justifiable war,” he said.
He added; “If the war is justifiable, to hell with whatever the propaganda they are raging against me.”
The interim president asked youth who had gathered at the dialogue many of whom university students from Makerere, Kyambogo, KIU, IUIU among others to use their youthful days to agitate for a fundamental change. He implored them not to genuflect to intimidations by the government in their pursuit of good governance and rule of law.
The FDC vice president for Eastern region, Hon. Proscovia Salaamu Musumba encouraged the youth and women to cleave to the party values of democracy, inclusiveness among others despite the difficulties they are likely to face.
On the other hand, the interim party Secretary General, Harold Kaija challenged the youth and women of FDC to adopt the use of advanced technology to spread the gospel of political change in the country noting that ICT provides free civic spaces for socio-political engagements across all states of the world.
During the dialogue, officials disclosed that they will hold a dialogue of FDC founders and eminent persons at party headquarters in Najjanankumbi on October 6 and warned against any resistances and use of mafias by Nandala Mafabi and POA to block the dialogue.
Doreen Nyanjura, a member of NEC and minister of trade and investment within FDC said the youth and women who are among the stakeholders of the party will lead the walk to rescue their party from political vampires.

Meanwhile, the party interim president further warned NEC members and party supporters from attending the October 6, National Delegates Conference at Patidar Samaj Sports Grounds organized by the FDC Electoral Commission Chairperson Hon. Boniface Toterebuka Bamwenda who he said doesn’t have authority to convene the National Delegates Conference.
“FDC constitution gives all the powers to the party Chairperson to convene a National Delegates Conference in Article 28. Toterebuka has no powers to call the conference,” Lukwago said stating that the matter is already in court which will sit tomorrow, Thursday October 5.
