A man in Rukungiri district southwest Uganda is on run after he intentionally knocked dead a hotel manager, whom he suspected of having a love affair with his wife.
William Sebikaru, on Monday (December 18) at around 11:30hrs who was driving his motor vehicle registration number UBH 562C Toyota Harrier spotted the manager who was being ridden on a motorcycle while heading to work, and intentionally knocked them from behind.
ASP Elly Maate, Kigezi region police spokesperson identified the deceased as Justus Muhwezi, a manager at Kings Hotel Rukungiri and resident of Rwengurijo cell Rwentondo ward southern division Rukungiri district. The suspect’s wife, Patience Nabimanya is an accountant at the hotel where Muhwezi is a manager.
“When they had just passed KASI petrol station along Rukungiri Ntungamo road, William followed them while driving his vehicle Toyota Harrier UBH 562 C and intentionally knocked them from behind and was rushed to Nyakibale hospital in critical conditions where he died from after being admitted,” police reported.
It is further alleged that before the stressful incident, the suspect had threatened to kill both the deceased and Sadres Nabimanya aka Sandra, a hotel waitress at the same hotel, whom he said mediates the two lovers.
On Sunday December 17, the suspect reportedly found Sandra on the way and offered her a lift to work but swiftly changed the route and stopped at the gate of River Side hotel in Rukungiri where he picked a panga from his car boot with intentions to kill her (Sandra). However, she narrowly escaped from the scene.
Maate said the suspect fled the scene and abandoned the car in Buyanja and the search to apprehend him is ongoing. The motorcycle and motor vehicle were also towed to Rukungiri CPS.
