Despite their church structure being burnt down last week, christians of the Incredible Happenings Ministry Church, led by Paseka Motsoeneng, popularly known as Pastor Mboro have remained resilient to serving God.
The Christians gathered for Sunday service in a temporary tent on August 11, in what was seen as an act of defiant worship amidst daunting challenges.
Located in Katlehong, Johannesburg, Pastor Mboro’s church was set blaze by a group of angry pupils after he (Pr. Mboro) was caught on camera threatening teachers with a panga and forcibly removing his two grandsons from Matsediso Primary School.
The Gauteng police commissioner, Tommy Mthombeni, told reports on Monday that a case of arson has been opened and is currently under investigation.
“We are collaborating with the community to shed light on the case,” he said.
Pastor Mboro is accused alongside his son Vincent, and bodyguard Clement Baloyi on charges, including assault, reckless handling of a firearm, and malicious damage to property. They were arrested on August 6 and are currently in custody pending court. Hearing of the trio’s bail is on August 16.
Despite the challenges, the church community remains resilient, gathering for prayer and worship in a temporary tent.
