BUSHENYI: Igara West Member of Parliament also Minister for Local Government Hon Raphael Magezi has said that he will not be participating in the 2021 elections but rather to concentrate on his ministerial duties.
Minister Magezi gave clarity on Saturday August1st while appearing on a local Radio Station 105.0 Hunter FM in Kitwe Rwentuha Ishaka-Bushenyi municipality to discuss on the political, socioeconomic and development issues in Bushenyi and Uganda as a whole.

He said the decision to pull out of the electoral race was a personal will done in good faith for the good of Igara West constituency who he has served for two terms in parliament.
“The people of Igara West accept my decision. I came looking for votes and people voted for me, I’m taking a breath, I will not contest. The President has assigned me with other duties, allow me to go and serve the nation,” he said.
Minister’s clarions follow media speculations that he was running away from the much pressure mounted on him by the Kasambya County MP Hon MbwateKamwa Gaffa who has already shown interests in the Igara west seat.
Magezi appealed to the electorates in Igara west to vote wisely and desist from any forms of electoral briberies and inducements.
“Do not vote out of influence because someone has given you little money or bought for you something. Vote for the people who will work for the transformation of this constituency,” Magezi appealed to voters.
The minister used cooking illusions urged that Igara West MP seat is like a delicious baked millet food “Karo” which you can’t dine alone on the table stating that he has to step down for others to serve.
On his new journey, Minister Magezi cherished President Museveni for appointing him as the Minister for Local Government pledging to serve with equity and transparency.
