The Buhweju Member of Parliament Hon Francis Mwijukye together with his counterpart Hon Charles Ngabirano, the legislator representing the people of Rwampara county (Present-day Rwampara district) have narrowly survived an accident earlier today’s afternoon.
According to sources in Mbarara, the duo were travelling together in Hon Mwijukye’s official vehicle when a speeding car Toyota Wish Registration number UBE 680 P collided with a car in which the two legislators were travelling in.
These were from a weekly Political Talkshow at 100.2fm Radio West, “Manya Ebirikufa Omwihanga Ryawe,” where they were hosted today Sunday May24th,2020.
The front guards of Hon Mwijukye’s car were damaged and the occupants of both cars are in good conditions.
Hon Ngabirano, while speaking to our reporter said that the legislators didn’t sustain any injurues.
“I was travelling with Hon Mwijukye in his official vehicle when that other ravaged car ravaged us. We didn’t sustain injuries,” He said.
The owner of the car that knocked legislators took on his heels immediately when he caused an accident but was later apprehended and taken to the hospital.
Reports indicate that the driver was drunk and driving under the influence of alcohol.
