Renown Catholic Priest and founder of Mt. Sion Bukalango, which runs Bukalango TV, Monsignor Expedito Magembe has passed away, a local catholic media reported.
“Msgr. Expedito Magembe has passed away. Very sad MHSRIP,” Radio Sapientia reported.
According to reports, the catholic charismatic renewal (CCR) prayer warrior at Bukalango prayer Centre passed on this morning. However, details of his death remain scanty.
The Chancellor of Kampala Archdiocese, Rev. Fr. Male Ssentumbwe has also confirmed the news of Msgr Expedito Magembe death,
“On behalf of the Archbishop of Kampala Archdiocese His Grace Paul Ssemogerere, I regret to announce the demise of Monsignor Expedito Magembe, of @mtsionbukalango on the 9th of May 2025,” Fr. Pius Male Ssentumbwe confirmed, without giving further details.

In January this year, social media posts made rounds announcing Msgr Expedito’s death. However, the reports were refuted by the Catholic church in Kampala as falsehoods.
Fr. Joseph Mukiibi, the Kampala Archdiocese Communications Coordinator, issued a statement dismissing the rumors of Fr. Magembe’s passing, saying that they were entirely false and without foundation.
In a statement, Fr. Mukiibi acknowledged that the Monsignor’s was in weak health conditions and asked the faithful to continue supporting and praying for him.
“We have been made aware of the rumors circulating on social media and other platforms about the passing of Rev Fr Expedito Magembe. We wish to inform the public that these rumors are completely untrue and without any basis in fact,” Fr. Mukiibi said
To clear off the air, the Msgr appeared on Bukalango TV in the January Sangalo (End of the Month) Saturday prayers, but his voice was visibly low.
Msgr. Expedito Magembe is a highly respected Catholic priest and founder of the Mt. Sion Prayer Centre at Bukalango, which also runs Bukalango TV. He is known for his tireless efforts to spread the word of God and serve his community, and his legacy continues to inspire and uplift people to this day. May His Soul Rest in Peace.
