Whereas the violation of Women and children rights is at the highest peak in most of the African states, Somali Premier Mohammed Hussein Roble has pledged to bring to zero the evil acts in his country.
Roble made these remarks on his social networks accounts on Sunday after he officially assumed office as country’s Prime Minister.
Somalia has for many years been affected by the Al Shabab terror group which has not only disrupted peace but also violation of human rights most of whom are women and children.
President Mohammed Farmajo on September 18 appointed Roble to the post of Prime Minister replacing Ali Khaire, who was voted out of office by legislators in a no-confidence vote in July.
This was after regional leaders agreed on a revised model for presidential and parliamentary elections.
The leaders agreed to form an interim government under the leadership of minister Mahdi Gulaid who handed over instruments of service to Roble.
During a handover ceremony that was held at the presidential palace in the country’s capital city Mogadishu, Roble applauded President Farmajo and the council of the people of Somalia for entrusting him with mandates
“I thank H.E President @M_Farmaajo for entrusting me with the massive mandate to lead the #Somali Government at a critical juncture and parliament for the subsequent approval,” Roble tweeted.
Roble also expressed his gratitude to minister Mahdi Gulaid for his stewardship of the interim government and a “well organized” handover.
Roble had pledged to create quality and effective government which will address some of the key challenges facing the Horn of Africa nation, among them holding fair presidential and parliamentary elections and prioritizing the violation of women and children.
