KAMPALA
Almost Four days after its formal registration as a political party, the People’s Front for Freedom has announced that it has already started on registration of candidates to hold the party flag for various electoral positions in the 2026 general elections.
Micheal Kabazigurika, the party’s electoral chairperson says that registration forms have been distributed to district coordinators online.
“The registration forms are ready for picking from our district coordinators across the country. The party National Executive Committee will meet within this week to finalize the rules and guidelines to govern the party on selection of candidates, and design party’s electoral roadmap,” Kabazigurika said.
The former Nakawa legislator said that PFF had been mobilizing and begun preparations for the 2026 general elections even before they were certification as the political party.
Speaking during the press conference at their headquarters on Plot 6, Katonga road, the Kira municipality MP and also the PFF mouthpiece, Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda criticized the government’s extravagancy for organizing national events such as the National Heroes Day, which he claims is a wastage of taxpayer’s money.
According to Ssemujju, events like National Heroes Day lost meaning as they serve to promote the interest of one political party -NRM and are used as a channel of wasting public funds.
“It’s unfortunate that even the people that are awarded medals on such days, do not ideally deserve them,” Ssemujju argued.
PFF officials revealed that they will officially launch their party on July 8.
