Parrots UG | Crimes: Police in Kampala is holding a police cop and 6 other suspects in connection to an attempted robbery at Nsooba in Mulago Parish.
Police Constable Joshua Mugoya, attached to Kasangati Police Station reportedly broke into the residence of one Godfrey Saka after getting information that his house had billions of shillings.
Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, says Mugoya got a tip from one Moses Ruhindi, a close friend to Saka who revealed to them that the latter had billions of shillings stuffed in his house.
Owoyesigirye says Mugoya carried out the dubious activity with Ali Galiwango alias Kapafu, Patrick Jjuuko, and other criminals in February 2021.
Oweyesigyire, notes that an attempted robbery case was reported to a Police Station in Lower Nsooba in Mulago Parish on February 17, 2021.
He further explains that Mugoya and his accomplices in the process badly injured 2 women including Saka’s wife and a wife to the security guard.
The injured have been identified as Kevin Uwera, the wife to Saka, and Batre Benard.
Owoyesigyire says Mugoya has confessed to being involved in the dubious activity and that they entered the house armed with machetes after jumping over the fence .
Owoyesigrye further notes that they have 7 thugs in custody with the exception of 1 identified as Hakim Wasswa, still on the run.
“Their file has been forwarded to the office of the Director for Public Prosecution (DPP) for perusal and probably sanctioning and will appear before the court as soon as possible, as the hunt for other suspects is still ongoing,” Owoyesigirye says
