Police in North Kyoga is investigating circumstances underwhich fire gutted Centenary Bank branch in Apac district.
The fire broke out on Tuesday destroying two of the four compartments of the building.
The police fire and rescue team from Lira city rushed to the scene to extinguish the fire and stop it from spreading to the remaining compartments.
The North Kyoga police spokesperson Patrick Jimmy Okena says some properties destroyed in the fire.
“Properties including two computers and some documents were partially destroyed while others were saved,” Opens said.
Police preliminary reports indicate that the outbreak may havebeen as a result of electric short circuits however, thorough investigations are ongoing.
