Meanwhile, Ugandan president, Yoweri Museveni has directed that all flags in Uganda be flown at half-mast until the departed Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli is laid to rest.

His announcement comes a day after the Kenyan president Uhuru Kenyanta also declared 7 days of mourning in Kenya for Magufuli.

Uhuru who is also the chair of the East African Community-EAC ordered that all national flags in Kenya and East African flags at all foreign missions fly at half-mast until Magufuli is laid to rest.

”The president’s coffin will also be paraded through major roads”, the government spokesman said.
