A total of 1,238 young men and women who have completed their training as prison warders and wardresses under the Uganda Prisons Service are set for pass out.
According to Frank Baine Mayanja, the Prisons spokesperson said the pass out exercise will take place on Friday, 17th April 2026, at the Maroons Grounds, Luzira Prisons Complex in Kampala, start at exactly 8:00 a.m.
The pass out according to prison authorities marks the end of months of rigorous preparation and discipline.
Vice President Maj Jessica Rose The ceremony will be Epel Alupo is expected to officiate the pass out ceremony as the Chief Guest.
Warders and Wardresses carry not only the responsibility of maintaining security in prisons but also the duty to support rehabilitation and transformation of inmates, giving many a second chance at life.
The pass-out according to authorities is not just a formal event, it is a life-changing milestone.
