Pupil commits suicide after parents accused her of poor performance in PLE

MADINDI: A 13- year-old old pupil in Masindi district has commited suicide after receiving insults from parents for performing poorly in her primary leaving examinations (PLE).

The fateful incident happened in Kivubi village Bwikya ward Mpaaro Division Masindi district.

The deceased whose identity has not been disclosed was a P7 pupil at Bwijya primary school. She committed suicide by hanging.

Reports indicate that she received negative comments from parents for performing poorly in PLE something that prompted her to commit thus deadly act.

 

The Albertine region police spokesperson ASP Julius Hakiza has confirmed to the reports saying that details will be released at a later time.

PLE 2020 results were released last week on Friday at Entebbe state house by the minister of education Janet Kataha Musevei.
