The Uganda Red Cross has dispatched its team to Gasheregyenyi Trading Centre Kisoro district in Kigezi region to rescue victims of the Platinum Bus accident.
Irene Nakasiita, the spokesperson Red Cross Uganda has intimidated to Parrots UG that they were notified of the emergency at Gasheregyenyi Trading Centre where a Bus vehicle registration number UAU 019F belonging to Platinum Bus company overturned causing injuries.
It is reported that the bus which was headed to Kisoro Town from Kampala overturned at Gasheregyenyi Trading Centre metres away from Kanaba sharp corners and 14 Kilometres to Kisoro Town.
According to Nakasiita, there were no fatalities but some passengers sustained serious injuries which requires emergency services.
Reports indicate that all the 25 occupants of the bus survived, 5 passengers have been rushed to Kisoro hospital whereas the remaining others were left to continue their journeys after they sustained minor injuries.
