The ArchBishop of the Church of Uganda, Rt. Rev. Stephen Kazimba Mugalu has selected Rev.Can. Fredrick Jackson Baalwa as the 5th Assistant Bishop of Kampala Diocese. Heplaces Rt. Rev. Hannington Mutebi who is nearing retirement.

The appointment was announced at an extraordinary meeting held today, August 13, 2024, at All Saints’ Cathedral Kampala.
“We are confident that Rev Canon Baalwa will bring his wealth of experience and expertise to this new role,” said Archbishop Mugalu. “We look forward to working with him to build a stronger, more vibrant church community.”

In his new role, Baalwa will collaborate closely with Archbishop Mugalu to foster the spiritual growth and development of the diocese which is currently seeking for expansion of the ministry as well as ensuring a harmonious and effective approach to leadership.
Ivan Naijuka, Communication Officer of Kampala Diocese confirmed the appointment which he described as a testament of dedicated service to the ministry.
“We are thrilled to welcome Rev Canon Baalwa to his new role,” Naijuka said. “His appointment is a testament to his dedication and service to the church.”
