In a recent development, the Directorate of Traffic & Road Safety has alerted the public about a sinking section on the road between Busega roundabout and Kyengera, posing a potential hazard for motorists. The traffic police, in collaboration with engineers from the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA), have swiftly taken action to assess the damage and determine the necessary steps for repair.

As the assessment is underway, all motorists are advised to consider alternative routes if approaching Busega Roundabout and heading towards Masaka. The recommended detours include Nakawuka Road at Natete Traffic lights or Mityana Road, aiming to mitigate congestion and reduce the risk of accidents.

The safety and well-being of road users remain paramount to the authorities. While inconvenience may arise, taking precautionary measures is deemed crucial to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and prevent any further damage.

To ensure safe passage, all motorists are urged to stay alert and strictly adhere to traffic regulations. Traffic police personnel stationed in the affected area will provide necessary instructions, which must be followed diligently. Motorists are also advised to stay updated with information from UNRA, responsible for communicating any changes or recommendations pertaining to this situation.

The Directorate of Traffic & Road Safety assures the public that the assessment and repair efforts are being closely monitored. The aim is to resolve this issue efficiently and effectively, with minimal disruption to the daily commute of motorists.

For further updates and information, individuals are encouraged to visit the official website of the Directorate or directly contact their office. Cooperation and patience are greatly appreciated during this period as the authorities work towards restoring the road to its optimal condition.
