A teacher at Dara Christian High school in Lira is in coolers for allegedly defiling his former student the same school.
Romano Odongo, the suspect defiled the 15 year old S.2 victim (name withheld), his former student now a student of King James comprehensive SS.
According to the victims father, James Opio a resident of Atego village in Lira city East Division, his daughter was initially studying at Dara Christian high school but he transferred her to King James comprehensive SS this year.
He says that his daughter informed him that the teacher had been sending her transport money to go to to his home at the teachers’ quarters at Dara Christian high school from where he would defile her.
The accused is also a teacher of Abok Seed School situated in Abok Sub county in Oyam district
The suspect has since been arrested and he is being held at Ayago Police post. Police charged him with defilement vide SD Ref 10/19/07/2022.
Attempts to speak to the head teacher of Dara Christian High School, Ayo Edward for comments were futile by by press time.
