Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces and the Armed Forces of of the Democratic Republic of Congo(FARDC) have rescued 3 children allegedly abducted by the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebels
According to Major Bilal Katamba, public information officer of the UPDF Mountain Division the rescued children were in dire health conditions and needed medical attention. He said they are currently undergoing treatment under the monitoring of the UPDF medics.
This was after the joint security forces disarmed two rebels belonging to the ADF group who led them to a place where they hide their weapons.
“Relatedly, following their surrender to the joint forces on 6th August, 2023,ADF rebels yesterday led the joint forces to where they had hidden their weapons and subsequently recovered the two sub machine guns (SMGs),” Katamba. explained
He also add that the joint forces continue to comb the valleys of Mwalika to clear with their efforts of recovering and rescuing more children and women.
