A serious traffic accident involving a Global Bus in Kiruhura has left one female adult injured and in critical condition. The incident occurred at Kibega along the Kiruhura-Mbarara highway, where the bus, driven by Mugisha Elly, swerved off the road to avoid a head-on collision with an unknown trailer.
The Global Bus, with registration number UBG 812K Isuzu was en route from Kampala to Mbarara when the accident occurred. The injured passenger, who has not yet been identified, was promptly rushed undisclosed hospital for medical attention.
The bus has been taken to Sanga Police Station as investigations into the accident continue. The Inspector of Vehicles report is also awaited to shed more light on the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Authorities are urging motorists to exercise caution on the roads and adhere to traffic regulations to prevent such tragic accidents. Inquiries into the matter are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the accident.
SP Kasasira Samson, the PRO of Rwizi, has issued a statement regarding the incident, emphasizing the need for road safety measures to be strictly followed to avoid similar incidents in the future.
