Two people were burnt to death when a car they were traveling in caught fire at Mijinga wetlands along Kakumiro Kibale road.
The deceased are Collins Mugerwa, manager Eden Resort Hotel in Kakumiro district and Sarah Kusiima, a bar attendant at Avenue Bar in Kakumiro town council.
They were burnt beyond recognitions after a vehicle registration number UAY 786V, Mercedes Benz in which they were traveling overturned several times before catching fire.
The Kakumiro district Traffic Police Commander, ASP Godwin Mwesigwa said the accident occured today August 29, at around 8am at Mijinga wetlands in Kyankima village near Kakumiro town. He noted that the duo was burnt to ashes and could not be well recognized.
Maj. David Matovu, the Kakumiro RDC told reports shortly after visiting the crime scene that experts will take samples of the deceased and submit them to the laboratory for forensic DNA test.
Police conveyed the burnt bodies to Kakumiro HCIII and investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
