KAMPALA: The Uganda Prisons Service -UPS has announced that their commossioner of Inspectorate and Quality service, Alfred Dakokati Okullu is dead/
“On behalf of the UPS,the Commissioner General of prisons announces the death of Mr. Alfred Dakokati Okullu, inspectorate and Quality Assurance,” read a condolence message by UPS.
According to the UPS Boss Johnson Byabashaija, the deceased passed on Saturday morning at Mulago hospital where he had been admitted at Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
UPS did not however divulge into details the cause of the commissioner’s death but said they are working closely with family to ensure decent funeral of the officer.
“We are working closely with the family to cordinate the funeral arrangemrnts that will be communicated accordingly.” UPS.
In May 2016, Okullu was promoted to the rank of commissioner of prisons and the prisons Commissioner General Johnson Byabashaija further appointed him to Commissioner of prisons Inspectorate and Quality Assurance, a position he has held since 12 May, 2016 until he breathed his last.
