The incident occured at around 9pm last night at a place called Lopuyo Trading Center where the trio victims had gone to booze with the locals.
The two soldiers’ names have not yet been identified, but the LC3 chairperson has been identified as Moses Lomuria aka Apalobara, Chairperson of
Maj. Moses Amuya, acting spokesperson for the UPDF’s 3rd division confirmed the incident noting that it is regrettable.
Reports indicate that after the shooting, the rustler took on heels and the joint security forces are on the ground hunting for him.
“The united troops’ pursuit of peace in Karamoja won’t be hindered by this,” Maj Amuya asserted

The 3rd division commander Major Gen. Don Nabasa and Brig. Felix Busizoori, his deputy, have continued to conduct peace talks while pleading with the Karimojong to give up their weapons and send their kids back to school because these are the only steps that will help the area flourish however, the disarming exercise has continued to remain futile.
