National Resistance Movement (NRM) supporters in Hoima district on Monday (August 28) voted Uthuman Mugisha Mubarak as their flagbearer in the Hoima LCV by-election.
The NRM Electoral Commission Chairperson, Dr. Tanga Odoi declared Uthuman Mugisha the winner of NRM primaries for Hoima district LCV Chairperson after he garnered 11,318votes against his closest rival Savannah Vincent Muhumuza polled 8,897 votes.
At least six candidates were competing to contest on the NRM ticket but Uthuman Mugisha merged the victor.
According to a roadmap issued by the Electoral Commission, the nomination of candidates will be conducted on Wednesday 30th and Thursday 31st August 2023 at the Office of the District Returning Officer, Hoima.
Nominated candidates will conduct campaign meetings for twelve (12) days, that is, from Friday 1st September to Tuesday 12th September 2023.
Polling and tallying of results for the by-election of the District Chairperson, Hoima will be conducted on Thursday 14th September 2023.
