Woman dies aboard Jaguar Bus

Police in Kisoro district are currently conducting an investigation into the tragic death of a 35-year-old woman who passed away while aboard a Jaguar bus on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Flavia Mulakigeri, a resident of Chondo village in Rukongi parish, Nyarusiza sub county in Kisoro district.

According to reports, Flavia had been receiving treatment for a suspected case of breast cancer at Mbarara hospital. Tragically, her condition deteriorated during the journey back to Kisoro, and she ultimately succumbed to her illness while on the bus. The caretaker of the deceased failed to inform the bus operator about the situation until they arrived in Kisoro, prompting the involvement of the local authorities.

ASP Elly Maate, the Kigezi region police spokesperson, revealed that the deceased’s relative, Niringiye Julius, reported the incident to the police upon their arrival in Kisoro. An investigation has been launched, with police officers already on the scene to gather statements from witnesses. The body of Flavia Mulakigeri has been transported to Kisoro hospital for a postmortem examination.

The circumstances surrounding Flavia’s untimely death remain unclear, and authorities are working diligently to uncover the truth behind this tragic incident.
