Bizarre: Police in Kabale district have arrested a male adult for allegedly raping his 77-year-old mother.
The suspect identified as Justus Byamukama, 29yrs is a resident of Kashenyi cell, Katenga parish Kamuganguzi sub-county in Kabale district.
Police learned that the suspect who was under the influence of drugs on the evening of Sunday June28th,2020 at around 8PM started intimidating his mother who he later raped in the garden of beans metres away from their home before taking on his heels.
“It’s alleged that the old woman who was coming from Hakatusi trading centre met with the son who had taken marijuana, threatened to kill her by strangulation so that she cannot alarm and ended raping her,” Kigezi regional police spokesman Elly Maate said.
The helpless old mother reported the matter to the area Local Council 1 chairman who launched manhunts for Byamukama until yesterday evening June29th when he was arrested.

He said that Byamukama has been charged with Rape and sex with a consenting relative – Incest at Kabale under reference number: SD 74/29/06/2020.
