The Territorial police in Mityana has commenced on investigation into a double murder of two of its officers and aggravated robbery of their guns by a gang of robbers.
The incident happened on Tuesday at around 4PM at Sebobo village in Sekanyonyi Town Council when when two victims complained to police an alleged robbery of proceeds from their tomato business.
The assassinated officers responded to a complaint little did they know that they were being hoodwinked by the disguised victims who led them towards Happy Nursery School where they (victims) and others still at large hacked the officers before disappearing with their guns.
ASP Racheal Kawaala, the police spokesman for Wamala region has identified the deceased as CPL Alfred Oketch and PC Moses Kigongo, while one of the disguising victims had identified himself to police as Kananya Sulaiman of Nansana.

ASP Kawala says the victims alleged that the public had arrested one suspect whom they were threatening to lynch to death.
The two officers and the disguised victims proceeded upto Sebobo village. The victims then disembarked from their motorcycles and were led towards Happy nursery school, where the victims together with others, ganged and attacked the officers.
She added that the assailants shot and killed the officers and disappered with their guns.
“The assailants shot and killed Cpl Okech Alfred twice to the head. They also hacked PC Kigongo Moses, to the head and neck, killing him instantly. They robbed the two police guns and disappeared from the scene,” ASP Kawaala said.
Police led by the DPC Mityana responded to the incident with a canine dog that led them to a bar where 15 people were rounded up for further questioning.
Police said has intensified the search for the two guns and the suspects whose motive has not been determined.
They have appealed to Ugandans with information that may lead to arrest of the suspects to report to nearby police stations.
