The Masaka Deputy Resident City Commissioner Ahmed Kateregga Musazi, has threatened to close down markets over laxity by traders on complying to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Kateregga made the remarks during a visit to Nyendo Central Market to follow up on the observing of standard operating procedures (SOPs) in the market.
During the visit, it was found out that most of the stalls had no hand washing equipments, sanitizers and the market vendors did not have facemasks as well as following social distance guidelines something that puts the vendors and their customers at risk of contracting covid19.
Kateregga says that they will be prompted to close down the market if vendors don’t stop the laxity and follow sops.
