The youth from greater Bushenyi District have blasted at the Commander of Land Forces, Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, also the son to President Museveni over his preparations to celebrate 48th Birthday.

The youth under their umbrella ‘Bushenyi Youth Mission 2O26,’ represented by their leaders from the five districts of greater Bushenyi say that the Birthday is at the moment not necessary regarding issues affecting youth livelihoods in the country.

“Birthday is unnecessary in the region. What is needed are jobs, factories, skills, training among others,” Bushenyi youth blasted

The youth leaders made the remarks on Wednesday while addressing journalists at Peak Hotel Bushenyi on Muhoozi Kainerugaba Birthday Kasiki due Friday 22 April,2O22.

It should be recalled that the first son organised to celebrate his 48th Birthday in a public party event at Lugogo Cricket Oval on Saturday 23rd April, 2022 and youth supporters of speculated Muhoozi project 2O26 across the country are in high gear preparations to celebrate the Birthday eve popularly known as ‘Kasiki’ their respective districts.

These are being funded by the big fish within NRM and other funds from Muhoozi through baked friend’s of Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

However, speaking to reports, Elite Bob Abomugisha one of the youth leaders dismissed reports of Muhoozi’s support by youth from western Uganda stating that the youth are still confined in President Museveni not his son.

“The youth western Uganda still need president Yoweri Museveni to continue leading them but not the son because president museveni has vision 2040 which he is still implementing,” said Bob

The youth warn that Uganda is not a monarchy to single family rule and advised Muhoozi to change his political mindset of Uganda’s future politics

“Uganda is not a kingdom whereby hereditary system of governance is conducted. Gen Muhoozi should not look at Uganda in that perspective and think that he will succeed his father,” said Annitah Katusiime, Mitooma District female youth councillor.

Angellus Ampwera, the publicity secretary for Mitooma District Youth Council denied allegations that the youth neither support Gen Muhoozi’s idea of celebrating his Birthday nor Muhoozi project but insists that no formal communication was made to invite them to attend the event.

“No formal invitation was sent to us by the organisers and we therefore disassociate ourselves from the purported Bushenyi Kasiki organising group”, said Ampwera

He explained that, “as the youth, we deserve somebody better and visionary to address their aspirations not leaders who look at us as vulnerable and use us for political gains.”

He said that the youth are affected by unemployment, high commodity prices among other challenges which promoters of Muhoozi project should in stead seek to redress.

The youth further pledged to traverse the country seeking for President Museveni’s next Kisanja come 2026.

Muhoozi Birthday celebrations will begin with a run dubbed ‘Muhoozi Birthday run’ at Kololo ceremonial grounds on Saturday 23rd April and thereafter a public Kasiki at Lugogo Cricket Oval.

According to Micheal Nuwagira, the event’s chief organiser, the Lugogo event is open to all members of the public irrespective of their political affiliations.

Rwandan president H.E Paul Kagame is expected to attend a dinner at State House on Sunday 24th April, 2O22,  as the General turns 48yrs, after a decade (10yrs) of not stepping on the Ugandan land.
