Mzee Nathan Okori has retaliated his call for government to support school going children who previously relied on late speaker of parliament Jacob L’okori Oulanya for school tuition and are now on a verge of dropping out of school.
Mzee Nathan made the request on Monday while meeting with a delegation from the NRM secretariat who had paid a courtesy visit to his home in Lalogi Omoro District to condole with him for the loss of his beloved son.
The delegation included Hon.Rosemary Nansubuga Seninde, the Director of Mobilization, Hon.Emmanuel L. Dombo, director for information and public relations together with the Director for Finance and Administration, Hajjat Medina Naham.
They were received by Oulanyah’s son, Okot Andrew Ojok, Omoro district Resident district commissioner, Andrew Onyuk and other family members.
According to Dombo, the director of communication within NRM, the team had gone to condole with the family and extend their sympathies for the loss of their breadwinner, Jacob Oulanya who died in March as well as mobilizing voters fir Andrew Ojok (son to Oulanyah) in the incoming Omoro county by election
He hailed Mzee Okori for accepting to offer his son who he described as a national leader to serve the country.
“…you gave us your son (Jacob Oulanyah) who was a national leader and served very diligently. We are happy you have Andrew who you have now nurtured to fill the shoes of his late father,” Dombo said.
Shortly after a meeting with Mzee Okori’s family, Dombo expressed confinement to win the election owing to the blessing received from the Mzee Okori.
“We are confident that with Mzee’s blessings and the support of the people of Omoro, Ojok will ably win the Omoro county by-election slated for 26th this month,” said Dombo
Speaking at a support mobilization campaign to solicit for votes for Andrew Ojok Oulanyah,the Director of finance and administration at NRM, Hajat Medina Naham Ojale rallied supporters and all the people of Omoro County on Thursday 12th this week to turn up in masses as NRM presents Andrew Ojok Oulanyah to the electoral commission for nomination.
Hon. Rosemary Nansubuga Seninde has appealed to those campaigning to remain peaceful throughout the campaign process noting that the former area legislator was a very peaceful leader adding, that is the only way to respect the dead.
Andrew Ojok said he was delighted to welcome leaders from the national secretariat. He applauded the NRM party for caring about his father’s family amidst misery.
On Adrew Ojok’s candidature in the by election, Mzee Okori asked party leaders to offer necessary facilitation to enable him and his campaign team to conduct a successful campaign.

Mzee also raised several concerns (confidential) he wishes to be addressed by the NRM leaders.
The Omoro county by election is set to take place on May 26 to seek for a replacement for former legislator Jacob L’okori Oulanyah who died in March making the seat fall vacant.
At least three strong candidates are vying to fill this vaccum and they include Okot Andrew Ojok (NRM), Simon Tolit Akeca (NUP) and Denis Dickson Owani (FDC)
