In a statement dated 3rd July 2022 by Bishop Sanctus Lino Wanok and the diocesan chancellor Rev. Fr. Opio Emmanuel, the ordination of candidates will take place at Uganda Marty’s Cathedral, Lira.
A total of four deacons will be ordained into priesthood. They include Deacon Doglas Ogwal of Loro sub parish, Deacon Rogers Okello of Omoro Catholic Parish, Deacon Emmanuel Opio Etam of Dokolo Catholic Parish and Deacon Isaac Ojok of Aloi Catholic Parish.
The seminarians that will be ordained into the order of diaconate order are; seminarian Francis Otim of Aber Catholic Parish, Denis Okello Odyek of Anai sub parish, Leo Ocen of Boroboro sub parish and Sem Ceaser Okello of Bala Catholic Parish.
Bishop Sanctus Lino Wanok has now decreed that the ban for the ordination of these candidates into the holy orders be announced in parishes for thres consecutive weeks before ordination.
This means that the candidates be publicly announced three Sundays starting on the 10th to the 24th of July 2022 during Eucharistic celebrations in the main parish church and chapels of the candidate.

The purpose of these bans is to allow christains with any information on impediment to sacred orders to reveal to the Bishop or parish priest before ordination.
Bishop Wanock has also asked the christian community to join these candidates in fervent prayers.
Rev Fr. Denis Omara, the Vocations Director of Lira Catholic Diocese has said the candidates will be taken to Alokolum National Major Seminary for a retreat that will run for a period of one week starting on the 26th of July 2022.
